Hello! This is the (for all intents and purposes) finished version of a little experiment thing I did! Lately I've been writing songs based on Tolkien's poetry from the Lord of the Rings books, and I sort of really wanted to do 'The Hobbit Walking Song' from The Fellowship of the Ring.' Problem being: Billy Boyd set the text so perfectly to music in the ROTK film (it's so chilling and beautiful; one of my favorite movie moments) that I couldn't imagine another tune with those words.
So this was the result. I took a few liberties with the melody and added a bit of my own to fit in with the additional Tolkien verses and the words that were cut from the third verse that was used.
It's not as starkly beautiful as the film version, but it was fun to do at least. :) Hope you enjoy! :) Any comments and constructive criticism are always appreciated. I'm always looking to improve!
