Описание: The WIDAL test is an outdated test. So it does not have any value in the Indian scenario, whereas most Indians have been exposed to vaccinations for typhoid for typhoid fever in the childhood. So in such cases, WIDAL test is of not much use. Any fever can cause elevation in the WIDAL titres. This is called as an anamnestic reaction. So the generalized increased in antibodies in a person who has fever. In a person who does not have fever, and it is positive no matter whatsoever. So the only way to diagnose. Salmonella infection is a blood culture, stool culture or a urine culture. So that is the way to diagnose salmonella.
