We learn how to make an island jelly cake; I mean a jelly stream cake! 😊 I was so nervous making this cake, but it turned out super cute.
Most of the decorations on the cake are pretty simple to make too, but they must be made out of modelling chocolate! Make sure to avoid fondant anywhere you’ll be pouring the gelatin.
This cake is dedicated to my in-laws, Hugh and Mary. They are avid hikers, so this outdoorsy cake is perfect for them. They are super grandparents as well, so you’ll hear about some of their adventures with the grand kids.
Gelatin Instructions:
1. Bloom: 60 grams gelatin and ¾ C cold water
2. Set gelatin aside
3. Boil 1 ¼ C water and 75 grams sugar
4. Pour the sugar water onto the gelatin and stir it up until it’s all dissolved
5. Add color with a toothpick
6. Allow it to cool to room temperature and pour it over your cake!
