Aina portrays Evie de la Rosa, a Sydney socialite's long-suffering nanny and godmother of sorts for other Filipino domestic workers.

"Evie perfectly encapsulates the heart of a Filipino," she says.

Marking the first major representation of Filipino-Australians on Australian television, The Unusual Suspects is breaking ground for the Filipino diaspora.

"Filipinos, for better or worse, are stereotyped as caring individuals who take on jobs as nurses, nannies and service workers. The Unusual suspects [shows us] in a different light that says to everybody that we're so much more," Aina says.

Filmed and set in Sydney’s glamourous Eastern Suburbs, this four-part drama series event from Aquarius Films starts Thursday 3 June 2021 at 8:30pm AEST on SBS and SBS On Demand, with all episodes available to stream at the same time of the premiere.
