“How can we help a grieving person if the other person who is meant to listen won’t even give them five minutes of their own discomfort?”
Our editor, Ally Havas, lost her mum to secondary breast cancer when she was 21. After over a decade, she had still never meaningfully connected with other young women who had lost their mum so early. When she came across the grief podcast Not So Linear with Tamsin Millard, she felt seen. Tamsin had lost her mum at 18 and was talking openly with the aim of normalising conversations around grief and loss.
Ally invited Tamsin and Danielle Snelling, co-founder of the not-for-profit Motherless Daughters Australia, into the studio to talk about the power of peer support and the unique experience of processing complex grief as a young motherless daughter.
Produced and hosted by Alexandra Havas.
The QUO Theme Song produced by Marley Cassette.
