Описание: In this panel at the FHE.org 2025 Hardware Day special meetup, Nigel Smart from Zama hosts a panel on "Hardware for FHE" with Ingrid Verbauwhede (Belfort), Paul Master (Cornami), and Rosario Cammarota (Intel Labs).

Ingrid Verbauwhede is a professor in the research group COSIC (KU Leuven) at the KU Leuven and co-founder of the start-up company Belfort. Her main expertise includes system and architecture design, embedded system, ASIC and FPGA design and design methodologies for real-time, low power embedded systems and more specifically embedded security systems. Her ability to cross the gap between algorithm and protocol development and actual implementation in hardware, software and embedded systems has been widely recognized.

Ingrid Verbauwhede is also a fellow of IEEE and of IACR, and a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium for Sciences and Arts. She received two advanced ERC grants in 2016 and 2021 respectively, which are the foundation for the start-up activities. Her most recent awards are the 2023 the IEEE Donald O. Pederson Solid-State Circuits Award and the 2024 EDAA Achievement Award. In 2025, Ingrid Verbauwhede receives the FWO Excellence Prize Dr. A. De Leeuw-Damry-Bourlart in Applied Sciences.

She is recognized “for her pioneering work in hardware and semiconductor security, a research area that is becoming increasingly crucial in today’s digital and interconnected world.”

Paul Master has over 30 years’ experience in high tech development and management in both start-up company environments and large corporations. His previous roles included positions as CEO, CTO, VP of Engineering, VP of Systems Engineering, VP of Architecture, and Director of Marketing among others. He has held positions in multiple startups, as well as larger companies such as Boeing, ARGOSystems, & Acer America.

Master was on the team that shipped the industry’s first Digital Trans-multiplexer, the first 3D Seismic Array Correlator for the Geophysical Industry, commercialized the first Cascaded Integrated Comb Filters IC’s and the first Smart Antenna Cellular Base Stations. Master helped start and commercialize the field of Reconfigurable Computing.

While at The Boeing Company, Master co-founded a new division; to bring reconfigurable computing-based telecommunications products to market. Master has over 100 patents issued or pending, over 35 professional publications and 13 first pass ASIC successes. He has been the keynote speaker & conference speaker at a variety of technical conferences dealing with multi-core, reconfigurable computing, FPGA, software-defined radio and computer architectures.

His specialties are low power architectures, multi-core processor systems, digital signal processing, multi-media, software-defined radio, wireless, massively parallel computing, & telecommunications.

Ro Cammarota is a cryptography and systems expert pioneering FHE systems for privacy-preserving AI. As Chief Scientist at Intel Labs, he led the first scalable FHE platform, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)’s DPRIVE program, and international FHE standards. With 100+ highly cited patents and publications, Ro now drives the mission to make AI both powerful and private.
