Is SALT BAE's Steakhouse Really THAT BAD? Nusr-Et NYC Honest Review

Out of all of the most famous celebrity chefs, maybe out of all celebrities in general, Salt Bae might be the most divisive of them all. Nusret Gökçe, better known by his online persona Salt Bae, was one of the most viral social media sensations of the late 2010s. So much so that even almost 10 years later, he is still relevant today! Because in Salt Bae's original viral video on Twitter and Instagram, he suavely sliced steak online and salted it in his signature pointed elbow way and millions of people were amazed by him. He was dubbed #saltbae as people found him cool and attractive haha.

Today, Salt Bae has a steakhouse empire, with Nusr-Et locations all around the world. He originally just had Nusr-Et Istanbul locations and Nusr-Et Dubai locations, but ever since he became world famous from the viral Salt Bae videos, he now has a steakhouse in almost every major city around the world. However, Salt Bae's restaurants have faced scrutiny, and some people say Salt Bae's steakhouse is overpriced, that Nusr-Et is a tourist trap, and that Nusr-Et is overrated, as well as generally Salt Bae is overrated!

To be honest, we have eaten at Salt Bae's restaurant in NYC before. The Nusr-Et Times Square location was reviewed by UA Eats almost two years ago. To be honest, I don't remember it being that bad! Lots of food YouTubers like to make fun of Salt Bae. The Guga Salt Bae videos are pretty much all making fun of him and how supposedly awful his food is. But to be honest, I found the Nusr-Et menu to be overpriced, but I didn't think the food was that bad. Now that there is a new Nusr-Et lunch special, we will try it. We will order the Nusr-Et 3 course prix fixe and also try a signature Salt Bae wagyu tomahawk steak.

The Salt Bae $39 lunch special is actually a pretty good deal! They have them at most if not all of their locations now. So we will try it, in particular the famous Salt Bae baklava. The Nusr-Et baklava performance is quite a spectacle! We will also once again try the Salt Bae burger. We once ate at Salt Bae Burger in NYC before it closed down, but some of the staff told me it is going to reopen in Times Square. Will the Nusr-Et burger be the same as the one we had at Salt Bae Burger? And are any of the Nusr-Et steaks worth the hype? Or as bad as people say? We will find out together!
