Everyone talks about Schwartz's Deli as one of the best Jewish delis in Montreal. Schwartz's Deli is definitely iconic, and we ate there last time we were in town. However, I hear Schwartz' Deli is a little overrated now and kind of a tourist trap. So with that in mind, many people have suggested to me Snowdon Deli as the best smoked meat in Montreal, if not the best smoked meat in Canada! It was a very common local rec so I just knew I had to try it.
Montreal's Snowdon Deli doesn't quite draw the crowds that Schwartz's Deli does, or Katz's Deli in NYC, but it is so far the best Jewish Deli in North America that I have been to. I not only find this the best Jewish deli in Canada, but to me this would also be one of the best Jewish delis in NYC, and one of the best Jewish delis in America were it based there!
It's very very good and I can't wait to go back to Montreal to try it again. Glad I was able to take you all along this time!
