🥃 Mayor Eric Adams will be concluding his term in the same place is started four years ago—Times Square. When asked about the end of his run in City Hall at a security briefing regarding New Year's Eve on Tuesday, the mayor shared some of his reflections, including a special moment during his swearing-in ceremony where he held a portrait of his mother.
"When I started it four years ago, no one knew this woman named Dorothy Mae Adams that raised a mayor of the city of New York," Adams said. "And being able to hold my mother's picture up so the entire globe can see that mothers across the globe sacrifice so much. And so mommy's not the mayor, but she made a mayor."
The mayor called the final days of his term "full circle."
"It has been a blast, I'm looking forward to a single malt scotch and a cigar," he quipped.
