Lumber mills here used to ship massive piles of wood downriver to Philadelphia, so every time you see a tree, thank Jersey Shore for its industrious ancestors—or curse them if you just tripped over a root.

As we meander toward Elimsport, notice the old stone bridges and farmhouses dating back to the 1800s, many surviving floods, fires, and generations of overly confident drivers. Elimsport itself is tied to early iron production and agriculture, serving as a hub for nearby farms moving goods to the river before highways existed. Imagine horse-drawn wagons bumping along dirt roads while the modern world slept—and now we get to drive it in heated comfort while cracking jokes.
