Описание: The Asian country of Japan is a traveler’s paradise. It’s a clean, safe, and highly organized mixture of hyper-futurism and thousands of years of ancient tradition fused together into a beautiful and complex package that never ceases to amaze. Add in the rich history, the kind locals, and the mind-blowing food, and I was in heaven the entire time I was there!

After arriving in the Yamanashi Prefecture earlier in the day, I made it to my hotel, La Vista Fuji-Kawaguchiko, which is absolutely beautiful and offers some of the most breathtaking views of Mount Fuji imaginable! My incredible room had a couch, a TV, and comfortable bed, a mini kitchen, a Jacuzzi, and more!

It was time for dinner, so I headed downstairs for an epic, 9-course Japanese dinner at the on-site Petit Poche Restaurant on the second floor. We started with a drink that was like a cross between a limoncello and champagne.

Then we had our first course, which consisted of foie gras, duck, broccoli, winter vegetables, and fish. It looked incredible. The fish was soft and slightly crunchy from the bones inside it. The broccoli was different, but absolutely delicious! The foie gras was amazing as well, even though I don’t like how it’s made, and the duck was wonderful. The herbs in a creamy sauce were also fantastic. I washed it down with a cold, smooth, dry sake! It was the best sake I’d had in Japan so far!

Next up was chicken with black truffle, herbs, and crispy, fried onions. The chicken was tender and juicy and the vegetables were a great addition. Then we had crab pasta with mullet fish shavings. It was buttery and a little spicy. It was my first time having pasta with chopsticks!

The next dish was bouillabaisse, a French, tomato-based seafood stew that contained shrimp, mussel, cod, a cod ovary, and a brussels sprout. The mussel was super buttery and the cod was nice and refreshing. The ovary was mushy, almost like brain. The shrimp was nice and succulent, and the fish-tomato broth had more tomato flavor than fish but was still really nice.

Then it was on to the main course, the wagyu beef with dried apple, potato, broccoli, dried pumpkin, mashed potatoes, and herbs. The beef was amazing, as you’d expect wagyu beef to be, the dried apple was nice and crunchy, and the sauce on the beef was sensational!

Then, we moved on to miso soup with clams, bamboo rice, and pickles. The bamboo rice was a sticky rice that had a hint of bamboo in it. The pickles were really strong, and the miso soup was very nice with the clams.

Next was a hazelnut ice cream with a chocolate berry sauce and oranges. I really liked the berry sauce. It was the perfect way to end this this ultimate gourmet Japanese dinner! It blew me away!

After dinner, I wanted to take you on a tour of the hotel. I started at a bar that doesn’t open until 9 p.m. There is also ramen from 10 p.m. until 11 p.m. The hotel also has public baths, but I couldn’t use them because I have tattoos. I’d use the private baths instead. There’s also a gift shop where you can buy locally-produced sweets like chocolates, as well as souvenirs and whiskey.

Before going to the private baths, I had to get my towels from my room. They also give you a gown, pants, and slippers to wear down to the baths, so I put those on and headed downstairs. There are five private baths. Inside the bath, they give you instructions on how to enjoy it properly.

My private bath was such a relaxing experience! You have to ease into the hot water slowly and keep a cold, wet towel on your head that you press on when you get too hot. What an experience!

After my bath, I changed and went down to the bar for some sake! I went with one I’d had earlier in the day. It cost $1,200 Yen/$10.82 U.S. for a large glass. The clearer the sake is, the better it is. This one was 40% clear and was amazing! It was dry and a little sweet. I loved it!

After the sake, I went back to the Petit Poche for some late-night soy sauce ramen! The noodles were thin and the broth was really nice. After my meal, I was ready for sleep!
