July 2020, Bend to Mt. Hood and back on the back roads.
Portions of this route include sections of the Cascade Discovery Route and the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route. A few modifications were made to spend more time off-pavement and to include points of interest.
July 2020 was a tough year. Conditions were extremely hot and dry, and the COVID-19 pandemic meant that forest service crews had not yet cleared many of the more remote sections of our route. We encountered dusty conditions and several massive tree-falls that forced us to re-route on the fly.
Riders are on a Triumph Tiger 800 XCX, Suzuki DR650, Suzuki DRZ400, and a Husqvarna TE450. Navigation and planning done using Gaia GPS.
