Today's video will discuss SAFED DAAG, known as VITILIGO, its causes, and prevention.

An auto-immune disorder called vitiligo (leukoderma and safed daag) develops when the immune system weakens. The body's melanocyte cells create melanin, a pigment that gives the skin its color. White vitiligo patches appear on the skin due to decreased melanin production, which causes the tone or color of the skin to be uneven. These patches don't itch at all.

Two forms of vitiligo exist.
First, Segmental. Here, one side of the body is affected by vitiligo. Segmental vitiligo is evenly present on either side of the body.
Second, Non-segmental. The lips, hands, feet, and other body parts are impacted here. Non-segmental vitiligo spreads at a much higher speed than segmental vitiligo.

The following are a few disorders that lead to the spread of vitiligo.

1. Hyperthyroidism
Patients with vitiligo and hyperthyroidism witness an aggressive spread of vitiligo due to a weaker immune system.

2. Stress
High-stress levels and a disturbed sleep cycle lead to the spread of vitiligo and the enlargement of vitiligo patches.

3. Corticosteroid hormones
Any fluctuation in the release of corticosteroid hormones released by adrenal glands also leads to the spread of vitiligo.

Any treatment that consists of phototherapy or steroidal therapy also leads to the spread of vitiligo patches. Steroidal treatment intended to treat vitiligo doesn’t work on the root cause.

प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली कमजोर होने पर विटिलिगो (ल्यूकोडर्मा और सफ़ेद दाग) नामक एक ऑटो-प्रतिरक्षा विकार विकसित होता है। शरीर की मेलानोसाइट कोशिकाएं मेलेनिन बनाती हैं, एक pigment जो त्वचा को उसका रंग देता है। मेलेनिन उत्पादन कम होने के कारण त्वचा पर सफेद विटिलिगो पैच दिखाई देते हैं, जिससे त्वचा की रंगत या रंग असमान(uneven) हो जाता है। इन पैच में बिल्कुल भी खुजली नहीं होती है।

विटिलिगो के दो रूप मौजूद हैं।
सबसे पहले, segmental। यहां शरीर का एक हिस्सा विटिलिगो से प्रभावित होता है। Segmental विटिलिगो शरीर के दोनों ओर समान रूप से मौजूद होता है।
दूसरा, Non-segmental। यहां होंठ, हाथ, पैर और शरीर के अन्य अंग प्रभावित होते हैं। Segmental विटिलिगो की तुलना में non-segmental विटिलिगो बहुत अधिक गति से फैलता है।
