As part of our virtual commemoration of women's contribution in activism for societal change, we would like to commemorate Justice Yvonne Mokgoro, the first black woman judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa from its inception in 1994 until the end of her 15 year term in 2009.
From 1992 to 1993 she served as an Associate Professor at the University of the Western Cape.
