Recording of the Thunderbolt 1000T at Whippoorwill Ln and Clairemont in Enid, OK. It is one of Enid's restored Thunderbolts. Rotates at 8rpm. The FC must not have had the time delay set for the blower and rotator, since everything stopped all at once.
This wasn't the one I had initially planned to go to. The one I wanted to record is/was at Crosslin Park but when I got there, I noticed the head was missing off the steel pole. I know last month, there were problems with a few of the sirens so it may be down for maintenance. If not, the ASC E-Class (used for voice alerts, installed a few hundred feet away) must have replaced it.
I think this one was a little too low pitched for my microphone. Audio levels on my computer show that it wasn't anywhere near maxing out. This thing was making everything vibrate when it rotated towards me, so it must have just been shaking the mic as well.
And yes, that is my 3T22 at the end when I zoom out.
