I did a Heli Glenorchy Fly-Cruise-Fly to Milford Sound which was absolutely SPECTACULAR! What a breathtaking scenery and I was just amazing lucky with the weather.

We flew from Queenstown over all the Southern Alps mountains and glaciers to Milford Sound where we went on a 2 hour Southern Discoveries cruise around the Sound and got to see some of the thousands of waterfalls and a couple with rainbows in them, quite a few seals, dolphins that were playing around by the boat and the rough Tasman sea.

After the cruise we flew to this incredible location called Earnslaw Burn which is about a 15 minute helicopter ride from Queenstown. It takes in Middle Earth where The Hobbit was filmed, have a picnic, hike and take pictures everywhere you look.

The diversity in landscape is just so incredible to see with the Fiordland National Park being the most green and lush and the closer you get to Queenstown, the more brown and sparse the vegetation and mountains.

All in all an incredible trip and day. Highly recommend to experience it!
