Tokito just had his big moment in Season 3 of the anime, but he nearly became the same thing he trains to defeat in Muzan’s infinity castle. When all of the demon slayers are searching for Muzan in his fortress, Tokito gets separate and sent into a room alone with Upper Moon 1. Tokito thinks that he’s never seen a demon like this, so dignified and proud, but as he tries to draw his sword, his body just won’t let him due to its sense of fear. Upper Moon 1 sees through Tokito’s body, and asks Muichiro his name, and when Tokito answers, Upper Moon 1 tells Muichiro that the two of them are related, since Tokito is a descendant of one of his children. This shakes the mist Hashira for a moment, but despite this he attacks and impresses Upper Moon 1 enough that even after the Demon cuts his arm off and spears him against a pillar with his own sword, Kokushibo reaches towards Tokito, to turn him into a demon.
