OPPORTUNITY SQUANDERED! The BMW Sauber Years (2006-2010)

Описание: Exiting the Canadian Grand Prix, Robert Kubica was LEADING the 2008 Drivers' Championship, only for BMW to suddenly go "cool, we're race winners, now we move on to the 2009 car."

With new regulations coming in, it seems BMW wanted to make a start on things, but due to some colossal muck-ups the car ended up being rubbish to the point that even Toyota got a leg up on them. But unlike Toyota, BMW actually won a race.

And with Hamilton and Massa doing their best to lose the 2008 title, it seems that it should have been BMW mopping up the dregs and potentially causing an upset. But they never took them, and it makes you wonder what might have been for Kubica who was fast becoming a star in the same way Hamilton and Alonso were.

So what happened? How did they go from promising to then just going backwards with a bad car despite having all the resources? Let's have a look.
