Описание: Mercedes entering when the economy had tanked was met with enthusiasm. With BMW, Honda and Toyota out, Mercedes coming in sort of helped with the stability of the sport, and they bought out the team that had that fairy tale 2009 to do it.

And although the W01 wasn't great, it was alright. And that's what mattered. It meant Mercedes wouldn't spend forever fixing something, and could do nothing but improve. Once they cracked it, there's nothing to say they wouldn't reap the rewards.

Four years later, they certainly did...
