Aharbal is a hill station in the south-western part of Kashmir in Kulgam district. Aharbal is also known as Niagara Waterfall of Kashmir. The boisterous waters of Vishav river tumble down straight 25 metres creating a waterfall. The height may not be much, but the sheer volume of water crashing down on the rocks is enough to make it's roar audible from a distance.
I travelled from Phelgam to Aharbal, which is about 85 kms. Srinagar lies at a distance of appox. 70 kms away. The trip can be done on a day's visit from Srinagar. In winter part of the waterfall is frozen & accessibility is quiet difficult due to heavy snow. However in the summer months this places is very popular for local tourist
