Plots, Schemes and Counter-Measures, Psalm 37:12–17 reminds us that those who align themselves with the world instead of with God are constantly plotting and scheming against God’s people. Their hearts are set on defiance—against God Himself and, therefore, against those who belong to Him.
Yet God is neither threatened nor shaken by their plans. Scripture says He “laughs” at them, because He sees the outcome of their foolish choices. Their weapons, strategies, and alliances are ultimately powerless against His will.
For God’s people, the call is to stay focused on the true goal: serving God, trusting His justice, and walking in their divine purpose. Rather than being distracted or intimidated by ongoing opposition, believers are to rest in the assurance that the schemes of those who persist in defying God will not succeed. This passage highlights both the emptiness of evil plots and the security of those who stand with the Lord.
