On Monday, April 11, 2016, at 11 a.m., in the Media Gallery at Toronto Police Headquarters, Homicide Detective Sergeant Michael Patterson updated the media on the investigation into Homicide #22/2016.
Background:
On Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 2:03 a.m., officers came across a man lying on the sidewalk, near Parliament Street and Richmond Street East. The man was suffering from obvious trauma and emergency medical care was administered, however the man succumbed to his injuries. The victim has now been identified as Julian Weekes, 27, of Toronto.
Toronto Police have identified the suspect in the shooting as Michael Teddy GIBSON, 29yrs, who is wanted for first-degree murder. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of this suspect are urged to contact police.
