Описание: The day started at 4 AM after taking a much-needed rest in Manali. Yesterday was all about laundry, organizing gear, and resetting for the next leg of this winter expedition. Early morning, I packed up and drove through the beautiful streets of Manali, crossing the flowing Beas River and witnessing the calm yet lively vibe of the town.

Before heading out, I stopped at Mall Road to buy some basic groceries — milk, curd, vegetables, and essentials for the journey ahead. A quick roadside samosa break added warmth to the cold morning drive.

As I moved towards Solang Valley, the traffic situation turned chaotic. Just before Solang, there was a massive traffic jam — vehicles squeezing from every side, double lanes forming out of nowhere, and complete disorder on the road. Somehow, overtaking hundreds of cars carefully, I managed to cross the mess and continue the journey.

And then… the real magic began.

Snow-covered landscapes welcomed me. The roads, the mountains, the trees — everything wrapped in white. It reminded me of Spiti’s winter vibes. Tall deodar forests stood silently on both sides as I drove towards the Atal Tunnel. Even inside the tunnel area, photographers and tourists were gathered to capture the winter beauty.

After crossing the tunnel — boom! A pure winter wonderland unfolded. Endless white landscapes, snow walls standing tall on both sides of the road, and that surreal Himalayan silence.

Reaching Sissu was a completely different experience today. I had never seen Sissu this beautiful before. Though people say Sissu is closed during heavy winter, the market area, hotels, and restaurants were still alive with visitors enjoying the snow.

As the sun slowly set behind the mountains, I continued towards my final destination. By evening, I reached my friend’s homestay, walking over thick snow to enter the room. Ending the day surrounded by snow, silence, and mountain peace — this is what winter overlanding truly feels like.

Winter roads, unexpected chaos, breathtaking views, and the freedom to keep moving forward — this is life on wheels. ❄️🚙
