Mokume Gane build day 4 twisting three 18k and sterling rods for pattern weld

Описание: This is an ambitious project. I am up to it…more than up to it, You have to think that way when playing with such expensive toysI got this, no question. This challenge or any other for that matter.
Still, 18k gold is expensive and there is a lot of it in play here. Roughly one half troy ounce between three billets in red, white, and yellow. Regardless of the color the purity is 750 for a true 18 karat on each Alloy.
I started this build using nothing but pure gold and silver casting grains, I mixed amounts of silver and copper to the 999 fine gold to produce these alloys. After poured into ingots, I am now proceeding to work the metal currently as you can see. Let’s find out where this goes!
Over the course of these videos, I am trying to document my work, and also to encourage the production of Mokume-gane, as well as the overall dissemination of jewelry making techniques and silversmithing methods. Due to my chosen niche I focus very Specifically on forging, fusion and traditional practices for fabrication of jewelry by hand, and though my methods are applicable to a variety or metals, I work almost exclusively in precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium.
