Описание: ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಬಿಸಿಯೂಟದ ಯೋಜನೆಯು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಪೌಷ್ಠಿಕಾಂಶದ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. 94% ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ, ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡ, ಇತರ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗ ಮತ್ತು ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಂದ ಬಂದವರು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಆಹಾರ ಭದ್ರತಾ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ 2013ರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಬಿಸಿಯೂಟದ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ಆಹಾರ ಪೂರೈಕೆಗಾಗಿ, ಶಾಲಾ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಅಡುಗೆಮನೆ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳವಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತ ಅಡಿಗೆ ಬಳಸಬೇಕು. ಆದರೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರದ 90% ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಈಗ ಸರ್ಕಾರೇತರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತ ಅಡಿಗೆಮನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಈ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸರಿಹೊಂದುತ್ತದೆ.

ಅಕ್ಷಯ ಪಾತ್ರ ಪೂರೈಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಆಹಾರದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ರುಚಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಆಹಾರ ಆಯೋಗವು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದ ನಂತರ 2019 ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಗುಂಪು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಹಲವಾರು ಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿತು. ಕೆಲವು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಪೋಷಕರು ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಒಪ್ಪಿದರು. ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತ ಅಡಿಗೆಮನೆಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಶಾಲಾ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಅಡಿಗೆಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಆದ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಲು ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು. ಇದು #ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ_ಏನು_ಬೇಕು ಸರಣಿಯ ಮೂರನೆಯ ವೀಡಿಯೊ.

The mid-day meals scheme provides nutritional support to the children going to government-run and government-aided schools. Over 94% of the children come from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes and minority communities. As per the National Food Security Act 2013, for supply of food under the midday meal scheme, school-based kitchen should be the primary option. Centralized kitchen should be used only when there is no space in the school for cooking. But over 90% schools in Bengaluru city are now getting food from centralized kitchens run by non-governmental organizations. This arrangement suits everyone except the children.

In 2019, a group of citizens visited several schools across Karnataka after Karnataka State Food Commission raised questions about the quality and taste of food being supplied by Akshaya Patra. Some of the children and their parents agreed to speak on camera. They expressed their preference for school-based kitchens over centralized kitchens. They also demanded inclusion of eggs.
