Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 56083. This is the Curt T connector vehicle wiring harness for factory tow packages, it's going to provide the four pole flat trailer connector. The product is designed to fit specific years of the Lexus RX350 and RX450 models. This is going to provide a four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle that's going to power your trailer's signal lights. The unit is designed for use with the factory tow package, it's going to be compatible with five pole, six pole, and seven pole adapters. When I did an overall length measurement of the harness I came up with about 52 1/2 inches long, that's from the base of one plug to the base of the other plug. This unit is going to connect quickly and easily, you don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires.

All you have to do is locate the connection point behind the rear bumper on your vehicle, plug in the T connector, it's got the nice little safe locks on it so it's going to provide a nice, tight, secure connection. Simply just plug those into one another and then again you're going to have about 52 1/2 inches of wire to work with so you can run that however you want. You want to make sure that the four-way flat connector is somewhere at the back of your vehicle, preferably pretty close to the hitch. It's going to come with some zip ties that we can secure any excess wiring that you may have, or any slack in the wiring that you may have, you can keep it up and out of the way. It's got a nice protective wire loom that goes around the wires so it's going to protect the wires from the elements or any type of damage or abrasions or anything like that. The product is made in the USA, it's going to come with a dust cap for the four way flat connector, it's going to protect the connection points when they're not in use.

It's always recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections to help prevent corrosion. It's also recommended that you use a mounting bracket to secure and hold up the connector, keep it off the ground, and just keep it up and out of the way. If you don't have a mounting bracket you can find those here on our website as well. It's going to come with your installation instructions, it's going to walk you through the process step-by-step. Again you're going to get a package with some of this helpful information on it and some zip ties to secure any excess or slack wiring that you may have.
