Sam shows how this is already the Gospel in seed form: the wages of sin is death, and either you die for your sin or a substitute dies in your place. He connects this to God’s justice and mercy, to the principle of substitutionary atonement, and to the later pattern in Genesis 22 (Abraham, Isaac, and the ram provided by God).

Finally, Sam ties it directly to Jesus Christ: God became man to become the Lamb of God—covering our nakedness, satisfying divine justice, and providing salvation. He also warns why Satan works hard to undermine the historicity of Genesis: destroy Genesis, and you attack the very foundation of the Gospel. The teaching closes by linking Genesis 3:21 to Romans 13:14—“put on the Lord Jesus Christ”—because the true covering for sin is not our works, but Christ Himself.
