🏍️ Billy Joel's motorcycle shop in Oyster Bay, Long Island is closing down as the Piano Man officially becomes a Florida resident following his diagnosis with normal pressure hydrocephalus.
Joel, 76, put his Centre Island mansion on the market for $29.9 million and is closing the shop, 20th Century Cycles, which first opened its doors in November 2010. The motorcycle destination served as the home of Joel's vintage motorcycle collection, over 75 strong, and never sold or fixed bikes that weren't Joel's.
Due to Joel's "recent medical issue, he will be auctioning the bike collection later this year," his representative, Claire Mercuri, said in a statement late Monday.
The shop was always open on weekends for public viewing, and never charged. It will remain open Saturdays and Sundays in August from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will be selling off vintage motorcycle parts.
