Billy Joel and Bono Sidecar Story and his 60th Birthday Bike at 20th Century Cycles in Oyster Bay!

Описание: I host a radio show in San Diego, Ca. on 101.5 KGB FM and a friend of mine Bob Buchman who's also a radio personality found out that I was going to New York with my family for a vacation. As we started talking about the trip and what we were going to do I jokingly said that If I could see Billy Joel's personal motorcycle collection while I was there, that would be great. Bob knows Billy personally so he made a call and got connected with Alex (Billy's personal motorcycle mechanic), who runs 20th Century Cycles in Oyster Bay, Long Island. I got in touch with Alex and he agreed that I could come stop by on a Thursday morning even though they're normally only open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. I took the subway, the train and a couple of wrong turns in between to get there and it was worth it. Alex met me at the train station and we walked to the shop just a couple of blocks away. Oyster Bay is so different from Midtown Manhattan, NY where my family and I were staying. Once I walked into the shop I was shocked to see how many bikes Billy actually owns and I'm told that's not his entire collection. With all of the makes and models to check out there were two that I focused on because I loved the story behind the Stella Scooter with Bono Of U2, in the sidecar and the Vincent that Billy got as a gift for his 60th birthday.
