gellato at home. i LOVE icecream and i have seen gellato in specialty icecream shops and they serve it in those tiny cups... now i can make it any time i have extra fruit at my house.
i made error about how much this makes in total, because i started with 7 ounces of 2 percent milk, added 4 tbs of sugar brought to a boil as the Elliot homestead lady suggested,
strained the milk and froze it into a small muffin pan. it was now aproximately 8 ounces. the 1.5 pounds frozen pitted sour cherries i used are typically used in baking. Thats what we have here at the farm. after the milk mixture was frozen for 4 hours, i put the cherries and milk chunks and added 3 more tablespoons of sugar in my old Oster blender from the 70's. it was not able to keep up and i had to switch to an old Oster emersion blender. it helped a little further to make it more refined.
