MSDF (Multi-channel Signed Distance Field) offers a great balance between the performance of bitmap text rendering and the scaling quality of vector graphics.
In this video, I'm testing a tiny text renderer using MSDF for smoother upscaling. The font itself is bitmap-based (32 px glyphs), but the distance field allows it to scale cleanly with minimal artifacts. I'm still tweaking a few settings, but it's already performing really well. (Also added a basic camera - not directly related.)
