So... Perhaps this song choice is very confusing for those who only know the first season? Well, I guess this might be spoiler for some but there actually IS something going on between those two? And I avoid like crazy to read "Lady of the Lake" because Cahir ended up being one of my faves and his ending (I spoiled myself already) feels so unfair to me. Truly, I already HATE with who Ciri ends up because that one only got introduced in that very book and plays no role to the actual story and there was Cahir to pick (or Avallac'h? I actually DO enjoy their dynamic??? I found their scenes actually very entertaining, despite his intentions???) and it feels so unfair.
Thing is: I struggle A LOT with the writing style in the books (I love the idea of the story but not the execution and this is all I can say without triggering anybody and I feel so sorry about that). But there was this scene during the Thanedd disaster where they fight and she wins and then she takes off the helmet and realizes he is no great villain and just someone who happens being dragged into this war and then she spares him and OH DID MY SHIPPING SENSORS TURNED AROUND! And then he travelled with Geralt to save Ciri and his is just really in love with her, the woman who spared him during this battle? I do think Cahir is just trying to be someone and to play a great role and so this "knight-in-shining-armor" MIGHT also appeal to him. BUT there is this connection between them and him realizing he worked for the wrong side. Sigh, it is so tragic with what could have been and Ciri does not get all of this because she is running from other foes the whole time and so it is very complicated. BUT the more I celebrated when the show did this scene between Cahir and Doppler!Ciri. I have more scenes to edit and so I am thankful. Also, I LIKE it that they made Cahir more evil - more interesing. But then there is the issue with Maussack which worsened everything but this is more leaned towards the book version and some AU where Cahir survives and Ciri offers him to join them. BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT HE DESERVED.

Not sure what other edits I make with Ciri in the future but I wanted to make one Cahir/Ciri tribute at least. Especially because I like Ciri much more in the show and also the actor they picked for Cahir is great. :D
And because that song suits them perfectly. :)))

Also: Don't like, don't watch. Of course I only ship them when she is older but they have history before and an interesting dynamic and I am NOT going to wait until season whatever with editing. (Do I look like I EVER cared about such a thing? xP)
