Описание: After a long three-year silence, Gevaudans Gauntlet returns with "Lykán", their seventh invocation and a ritual scar etched deeper than before. Emerging from the shadow of the debut album "Rime of the Perpetual Stygian Battery", this EP does not seek reinvention, it tightens the grip instead, sharpening its blade until the ritual becomes a doctrine.

"Lykán" unfolds as a suffocating vein of raw black metal, where blast-driven violence coils around itself in a trance of relentless motion. The guitars weave a sound that is abrasive and hypnotic, while the percussion seems to not create any rhythm and instead something more like punishment, as the ceaseless battering denies any sort of rest. Beneath this hostility, subtle veins of dark ambient seep in, particularly at the closing moments of the first and third pieces, where the chaos exhales into something more ceremonial, as if the storm pauses only to let the listener glimpse the altar before being dragged back into the tempest.

Nothing here feels polished or forgiving, every frequency presses inwards, creating a claustrophobic intimacy that amplifies the record’s psychological weight. Vocals erupt as hell spectres let astray in mid-ritual, a conduit for malice and metaphysical decay.

There is a liturgical cadence to the verses, as if the words themselves are being gnawed at by unseen jaws, echoing themes of eternal struggle, corrupted creation and the gnashing persistence of desire turned rancid.
It grinds the listener down until resistance becomes futile
