The Quran mentioned that Muslims may eat the food of the "People of the Book" which means the Christians and Jews. However, many scholars today say only Kosher standards are comprehensive enough to meet this definition. In fact, the Kosher slaughtering practices are not only close to the Halal standards, Kosher certification is sometimes even more stringent. There is, of course, a difference of opinion in this matter among Muslims. Allah SWT (God) knows best, of course. Here is my humble opinion based on my research.
