Pokhara is known as gateway to the grater himalayas to the annapurna mountain range, This time we did visit most visited places in pokhara and in chitwan.
Paragliding in Pokhara offers a thrilling tandem flight over Phewa Lake and the Annapurna range, with flights lasting 20–60 minutes. Pokhara, Nepal’s adventure capital, is renowned for its stunning natural scenery and ideal conditions for paragliding. Flights typically start from Sarangkot Hill (1,592–1,650 meters), providing panoramic views of Phewa Lake, Pokhara Valley, and the Himalayan peaks including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre. The city’s stable thermals and gentle winds make it suitable for both beginners and experienced flyers.
Kayaking is the use of a kayak for moving over water. It is distinguished from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. A kayak is a low-to-the-water, canoe-like boat in which the paddler sits facing forward, legs in front, using a double-bladed paddle to pull front-to-back on one side and then the other in rotation.
In Khorsor, Sauraha, just outside Chitwan National Park's boundaries, the National Trust for Nature Conservation operates the Elephant Breeding Center where dozens of domesticated elephants live, breed, and raise calves that will eventually join anti-poaching patrols, tourism safaris, or conservation work across Nepal's protected areas. Established in 1985 when wild elephant capture faced increasing ethical scrutiny and declining wild populations made sustainable harvesting impossible, the breeding center attempts solving a fundamental challenge: how to maintain working elephant populations—essential for jungle patrols and tourism—without depleting wild herds or relying on elephant imports from India or Myanmar.
