It's that time of year again: World Hippo Day! To celebrate, here's a video I made with videos from my trip to @M@MemphisZooast year with my best friends including @kel@kellthebiologist @kylem@kylemccollum3996rst featured it in my video on Skebanga the Nile Crocodile, but now it's time to focus on the area's namesake. Memphis Zoo has been called the "Hippo Capital of the World" because of its successful breeding program. In Ancient Egypt, the goddess Taweret was depicted as having the head of a hippopotamus and was the primary protector of women, pregnancy, and childbirth.
