In this week’s video, we spent 3 days in New Orleans during the Mardi Gras season with Madi’s old college roommates (Justin and her brother Luke)! We did everything from attending parades, listening to live music, walking Bourbon Street at night, and trying local cuisine such as Beignets and Po' Boys.
Subscribe to see where we travel out of the country to in next week's video!

Parade Tips:
Parades run crazy behind schedule — we got to most parades about 2ish hours late, and they were still going
The Uptown Parades were our absolute favorite! We found places to watch and participate between Canal St and Poydras St. We found the floats at the Uptown Parades to be the most impressive and the area we watched from to be the most roomy and comfortable. Due to the taller buildings in this area, there was also plenty of shade!
On the other hand, the French Quarter parades are tight, crowded, and uncomfortable. They also don’t have large floats, but rather are mostly just walking parades due to the narrow streets.
Don’t bring your dog! We saw so many doggos at the parades having a horrible time. There are LOTS of marching bands, and the noise from the drums made one dog near us so uncomfortable that it ran away from its owner and was hiding behind a dumpster. We saw other dogs getting hit in the face with beads, confused in tight crowds.
