$7 million Spokane Valley cross-country venue on track to host Fall 2025 events

The 46-acre cross-country venue, dubbed The Course, is a project that Spokane Sports and the City of Spokane Valley have been working on for several years and is set to host everything from middle school to master's level races.
The $7 million project aimed to be an economic boom for the area. The project is primarily funded through the city’s lodging tax revenue and is expected to attract athletes of all skill levels as well as visitors that will shop, eat and stay in Spokane Valley.
Despite still being months away from completion, Spokane Sports has already secured a number of events to be held at the site, most of which are in 2026 and 2027, and even a few conferences as early as this fall.
But before anyone can step foot on the course, the grass needs time to set. Spokane Sports CEO Ashley Blake says the grass was something crews planned for before construction started.
