According to the Spokane Fire Department, multiple brush fires are burning near West Elliott Drive and North Holy Names Court. According to officials, the fires are confirmed to have been intentionally set.
"What we didn't want to happen, today has happened. We've got somebody setting fires," said Justin de Ruyter with SFD.
As of 6 p.m., the Washington Department of Natural Resources, Spokane County Fire District 10 and Spokane Fire Department are on scene fighting the flames.
