Session 200, October 20, 1965: Psychic Road Trips and Dream Jackets
The Bradley Breakthrough
Seth took a victory lap for Jane’s recent telepathic win. She managed to tune into their friend John Bradley.
• Jane nailed 10 out of 13 specific impressions about John’s activities while he was sixty miles away.
• Seth noted these exercises are "excellent training" and massive confidence boosters for long-distance psychic work.
• It turns out the relaxed, "offhand manner" Jane used while ironing is the secret sauce for hitting those telepathic bullseyes.
Shopping in the Subconscious
Seth spent some time breaking down Jane’s recent dreams, which were basically a guided tour of her own psychic potential.
• The Many Rooms: These represented different facets of psychic realities Jane is starting to explore.
• The Green Jacket: In the dream, Jane found a warm green jacket. Seth revealed this isn't just fashion; it represents a "new" ability she’ll soon discover that actually belongs to a past life.
• The Helpful Stranger: Jane dreamed of a smooth, olive-skinned young man who helped her off a banister. Plot twist: that was Seth in a previous existence.
• Quote: "He will however then realize, or he should realize, that this ability was his in a past life, but unused, and is now awaiting him. It will bring both warmth and confidence, and will give him protection."
The Puerto Rico Connection
Seth decided to play travel agent and tracked the Gallaghers, who were vacationing in Puerto Rico. Even without mail or phones, Seth had the "receipts" on their trip:
• They moved to a different room, further west, near a "bushy sort of tree with something like spikes on it."
• Seth caught them watching a movie about a "woman with lovers, and a cripple, or perhaps a dwarf."
• They reportedly picked up a small crucifix on a chain and had a meal while thinking strongly about Peggy’s sister and her "squat" husband.
• Seth even threw out a phonetic mystery word: "clor-ra-door."
Tracking Dr. Instream
The session included a real-time check-in on Dr. Instream. Seth portrayed him as a busy man running a bit late.
• Seth visualized him getting out of a car (possibly a Buick) and heading to his office late at night.
• There was a mention of a "nuisance" man in the hall acting as an impediment and a brief disagreement with his wife.
• Seth noted that the doctor was trying to make mental contact while thinking of, oddly enough, a knife.
Rob’s Vivid Dreamscape
Rob (Joseph) got called out for his own dreams, which he hadn't even shared with Jane yet. Seth peaked into his notebook anyway.
• The Goal: Seth interpreted Rob's dreams of intense colors and "chases" as a sign that he is close to achieving a major professional goal.
• The Blue Station Wagon: Seth touched on Rob's dream of their Ford station wagon being out of commission on a grassy bank.
• The Ego Check: Seth joked that the material got a bit muddy at the end because Jane's "belligerent" ego started waking up during the break.
Publisher Drama and Parting Shots
Seth couldn't resist a little commentary on Jane’s publisher, Frederick Fell.
• Seth described Fell as having a "lack of discipline" and an "avoidance of details," but noted he isn't being malicious—just "cosmopolitan."
• Seth ended the session with a classic zinger about Bill Gallagher’s vacation behavior: "I must say that I think he would make a poor Jesuit indeed."
