Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Dexter 25 3/8 inch long 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for the 6,000 pound trailer axles. Now, this leaf spring will act as part of your trailer's suspension system. Basically, it'll provide the attachment point for your trailer's axle, has multiple leaves to allow flexibility to absorb road shock, and this one would have five leaves. Allows for a nice, smooth ride, reduces wear and tear on the trailer, and it'll ensure a level ride on any bumpy or uneven surfaces. Now, the length we had mentioned is always measured from the center of one eye to the center of the other when it's unloaded, like it is now.

So, what we're gonna do is take a tape measure, from center to center and measure 25 3/8 inch measurement. The width on the spring is 1 3/4 inches. This is a sturdy steel construction. You could see the nylon bushings are installed included. The eye diameter when the bushings are installed 9/16 of an inch.

Now, the pre-mounted hangers are the aftermarket hangar kit, which is required for installation, those items we do sell separate on our website. Basically, this spring will attach to your hanger that's mounted on the trailer frame at one end, and then on the other end it connects to shackle straps, which are suspended from either a hanger or equalizer. This is for a quantity of one leaf spring. Spring capacity is 3,000 pounds, so when this is matched with one on the other side of the axle, it'll meet the 6,000 pound axle capacity.
