Bellaire Big Reds Power Through Northmor Golden Knights 54-27

Описание: The Northmor Golden Knights season has come to an end after falling to Bellaire in the opening round of the Division 6, Region 23 playoffs.

The #3 Big Reds (7-4) opened up the scoring on the game's first play as Jake Heatheringon threw a 66-yard pass to a wide-open Ray Ray Pettigrew. After a Golden Knight punt, Bellaire drove down the field resulting in a Pettigrew 8-yard run to make it 14-0.

The #14 Golden Knights (5-6) answered two plays later as Max Lower pulled off a big run and then capped off the drive with a 3-yard run making it 14-7 after one.

Northmor then got the ball back on a Hunter Fulk interception and drove inside the 10, but could not punch it in stalling on downs at the Bellaire 4 and after back-to-back punts, the Big Reds added to its lead on a Heatheringon to Terrin Frazier 30 yard pass then later in the quarter on a Drew White 3 yard run making it 28-7 with 23 seconds left in the half.

It would be enough time for the Golden Knights, however, as Lower got out of bounds after a 20-yard completion then AJ Bower hooked up with Bo Landin behind the defense for a 39-yard strike with 1 second left in the half making it a 28-14 score at the break.

The game would get away from Northmor in the second half starting with the second play as Lucas Littell picked off a Bower pass and returned it to the end zone. Brayden Roth then extended the lead further 5 minutes later on a 3-yard run to make it 40-14 with 6:55 left in the third.

The Golden Knights wouldn't go down quietly as Lower scored from 75 yards out two plays later making it a three-score game at 40-20, but again Bellaire again added on with touchdown runs by Roth and White.

Bower would get his second touchdown reception of the day wrestling the ball away from the defender just enough to complete the score and finish the scoring at 54-27.

Lower finished his career as a Golden Knight with another outstanding performance rushing 22 times for 222 yards and two scores.

The Big Reds were led by Roth's 161 yards on 26 carries and two scores. They will host #6 Worthington Christian in the second round.
