Rematch of the regional championship from 1995, Bellaire repeated a comeback victory over the favored Cardinals and returned to the Ohio state championship game, finishing 13-1 Runner-up. #2 ranked Mooney finished 12-1. Bellaire was led by Jr. QB Ty Maciarelli (Ohio State University), Sr. Ben Taylor (Virginia Tech University, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers), Clint Lekanudos, Grant Allen, D.J. Sochor, Brian Sechrest, Jeremy Lemley, Richie Materkoski, Justin Homer.
