Описание: Cette étape va avoir un impact majeur sur l’esthétique finale du Super Florida, car il ne s’agit rien de moins que de sa « robe » d’apparat en acajou. En premier lieu il a fallu trouver un acajou parfaitement de fil (c’est-à-dire sans nœuds) et d’une seule longueur (8m10). C’est auprès de l’importateur historique et exclusif de Carlo Riva, à Gènes en Italie (MAGNINO LEGNAMI S.r.l.) que nous avons trouvé la perle. Ensuite ce n’est que précision et patience, pour ajuster chacune des 12 lattes de 11 mm d’épaisseur (6 lattes bâbord et 6 tribord). Il ne faut surtout pas sous-estimer la précision des gabarits de bordé car ce sont eux qui vont servir de guide pour affleurer les chants même si la finition se fait au rabot pour un ajustement parfait. Un montage à blanc sur la carène est nécessaire pour le repérage des pré perçage, puis montage et collage à l’époxy, vis en bronze/silicium et enfin tapereaux de finition (bouchons cache vis). Pour la première latte, j’ai l’aide précieuse de ma fille. Merci Zoé ! car je voulais étalonner le protocole et voir si j’étais capable de le dupliquer seul… Au total, ce sont environ 220 vis par lattes, autant de tapereaux, et beaucoup de patience mais le résultat est magique… Je vous souhaite un bon visionnage.

First of all, we had to find a mahogany that was perfectly straight (i.e. without knots) and of a single length (8m10). We found the jewel at the historical and exclusive importer of Carlo Riva, in Genoa, Italy (MAGNINO LEGNAMI S.r.l.). Then it's only about precision and patience, to adjust each of the 12 planks of 11 mm thickness (6 planks on the port side and 6 on the starboard side). You should not underestimate the precision of the planking templates because they will be used as a guide to make the edges flush, even if the finishing touches are made with a planer for a perfect fit. A blank assembly on the hull is necessary to locate the pre-drilled holes, then assembly and gluing with epoxy, bronze/silicon screws and finally finishing caps (screw covers). For the first plank, I have the precious help of my daughter. Thank you Zoé ! because I wanted to calibrate the protocol and see if I was able to duplicate it alone... In total, it's about 220 screws per plank, as many caps, and a lot of patience but the result is magic... I wish you a good viewing.
