This brilliant collection of local musicians played two pieces to open TEDxSanDiego in 2015. Descarga 20/20, an original composition written by Gilbert Castellanos in support of our theme, 20/20 Vision, followed by the rumba flamenco composition, Tempestad, by Juan Serrano. The Latin rhythms provided by trumpet, standup bass, guitar and tap take us on a musical adventure.
An eclectic ensemble comprised of Lorraine Castellanos, a classical guitarist and jazz vocalist, Evona Wascinski, an upright bassist, Claudia Gomez, a tap percussionist, and Gilbert Castellanos, a jazz trumpeter, brings audiences a fresh and intense sound that maintains its roots in the romantic music of the old-world Mediterranean, Latin American, and Jazz traditions.
