4 refractometer comparison

Описание: Comparing four different refractometers. One manual/optical and three digital. All were purchased via Amazon.

The purpose of having them is to begin becoming familiar with, and gathering data specifically on leaf brix readings, as an indirect measure of plant health, as proposed by Dr Tom Dykstra that insects only attack sick or weak plants, that weakness or health being indicated by leaf brix readings.

So I gathered three additional refractometer in addition to the optical one I had, and in this video I perform the calibration procedure according to each manual to distilled water, and then perform readings with a "lab standard" fluid. Being in the south, this fluid is of course.... Mtn Dew.

While attempting to take out a lot of the dead space, I did keep in much of the actual manipulations and waiting to clearly indicate which if any seemed a bit more "fiddly" in operation, as that is an important aspect of usability. I don't claim to be the procedure perfectly at this point, and am sure technique will improve.
