A new era of the Ceduna Gypsum Train began in April 2023, with new track and engines working the last remaining train on the Port Lincoln Narrow Gauge Division between Kevin and Thevenard. Returning to action to fill in for an ex-Queensland Rail's 2300 requiring maintenance, operational 1600s of 1606 and 1601 with their V12 EMD 12-645E Primemovers joined newcomer from Queensland, 2364, hauling the train as seen on July 9th, 2024.
