Mark: Hey it's Mark Perry from
BuiltLean.com and I want to show you
an abs progression. And what do
I mean by progression?
You know, there are many ways
to make your workouts harder,
and to improve your body,
and in my opinion progression is the most
important variable in an exercise program.
And so, you can make your workouts harder
by decreasing the rest between exercises
you know, by lifting more weight,
but one way is to actually
choose harder and harder exercises and
so I may start out with a beginner
abs exercise, and moves towards a more
intermediate-advanced exercise.
So this is something you can follow to
improve your body
so first is, a crunch with your feet in the air.
let me show you what I mean.
And so, the first is, you got your feet
in the air,
your hands are behind you, arms are
straight out,
and you crunch up, breathing out as
you go up of course.
In
and Out.
So that's actually the first and
easiest abs exercise.
The second one is one leg bicycles,
let me show you what I mean here.
So, once you can do crunches really
easily, then you're gonna do
one leg at a time bicycles.
And so you are not keeping
your feet off the ground
they are actually coming on the ground
and then coming off the ground and then
you are putting them down again.
And finally you are gonna do what are
called normal bicycles.
Where your feet are completely off the ground
and you alternate
one after the other. But notice how I'm
not taking my legs really high up.
I'm keeping them nice and low, which
engages your lower abs.
Fourth, are reverse abs. These are a little harder
because you have to keep both your legs up
at the same time, as opposed to bicycles where
you were doing one at a time.
And so, you're gonna keep your arms
at your sides,
toes pointed out, you're gonna crunch
in, and out.
Crunch in, keeping your head back,
because these are harder because, again,
you're gonna have the weight of your
legs that you have to hold up.
Then finally, there are you know
they were called V-ups,
and this is an exercise I like to do,
I actually use it with
uh, you know, what I hold in my feet,
so let me show what I mean.
V-ups, and this is on of the hardest ones
or harder ones
is you start out with your legs totally
straight up, and you crunch up.
[exhales]
Just like this. And they are pretty hard, I
mean they're a lot harder abs exercise
I'm gonna show you, for sure, but I
think if you follow that progression
you know, you'll be able to improve
the strength of your abs,
You know, really effectively, and I
