A mass rally was held Friday in southern Lebanon, to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the kidnapping of pro-Iranian Hezbollah leader Sheikh Abed Al-Karim Obeid from his home in Jibsheet village by Israeli commandos.
Meanwhile a pro-Iranian Islamic guerilla who was killed in an Israeli ambush on Thursday night in South Lebanon was buried Friday in a mass funeral in his village.
The rally was held at Jibsheet, southern Lebanon, to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the kidnapping of pro-Iranian Hezbollah leader Sheikh Abed Al-Karim Obeid from his home in Jibsheet village by Israeli commandos.
Obeid, as well as Sheikh Mostafa Al-Dirani, who was also kidnapped from his home Qsar-Naba in Baalbeck city last year were snatched after Israeli pilot Ron Arad was taken hostage when his plane was shot down during operations over Sidon and south-Lebanon.
However talks about exchanging the two clerics for the pilot have not been fruitful and Sheikh Obeid is still held in prison in Israel, while the Israeli prisoner Arad's location is unknown.
Obeid's son called on the Lebanese government to pressurise the Israelis into releasing his father.

"I'm appealing to the Lebanese government to make efforts and pressure to release my father and all the Mujahideens in the Israeli prisons."

Hezbollah don't hold the pilot, said a senior cleric.
SOUNDBITE (Arabic) "Israel doesn't care about its soldiers nor about SLA South-Lebanon army soldiers, it cares only for the Israeli missing pilot, the pilot is not held by us and his location and captors are unknown, when his issue is highlighted, it means that the problem is complicated and the Israeli claim that they are ready to solve the detainees issue is mere publicity and is far from reality"

Meanwhile a pro-Iranian Islamic guerrilla who was killed in an Israeli ambush on Thursday night at Oqmata village in Iqlim Al-Tuffah in South Lebanon has been buried.
Hundreds attended his funeral at his village Ein-Qana.
