Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal (SPCT), jointly owned by Penang Port and Royal Caribbean, is undergoing expansion.

SPCT can currently accommodate one large and one smaller ship at the same time, but when the expansion is completed, it will be able to accommodate multiple Oasis class sized, plus smaller cruise ships at any one time. The first phase involves extension of the existing 400m berth and improvement of all infrastructure.

First phase cost RM150 million and construction works taking 24 to 36 months to complete. The completion of the first phase will enable the cruise terminal to handle three million passengers a year and simultaneously accommodate two mega-sized cruise ships.
